Choir

St Christopher's church choir leads the singing at most of the 10.30am and 6.00pm Sunday services. The choir work under the direction of our choirmaster and organist Duncan Westerman, and comprise Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass (SATB). They are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music, part of the Gloucestershire branch.

Highlights of our choral year at St Christopher's start with our Advent Carol Service, then the Christmas service of Nine Lessons and Carols, Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning services. We end Epiphany with our final Carol Service and then start practising the music for Good Friday (generally an oratorio) and Easter Sunday.

Choir practice is on Fridays at 6.15pm for approximately an hour and is held in the Upper Room at St Christopher's.
The choir and/or organist is available to sing at weddings and funerals, by arrangement.

Music Group

The music group accompany hymns in Family Worship services on the first Sunday of each month at 10.30am. We practice together at 9.30am for half an hour before the service, though we try to get the music to the members by the previous Sunday.

We welcome any musician of an ability from grade 2 standard upwards, playing any instrument. There is limited scope to provide music to suit all abilities, so inexperienced players are welcome to join in the bits they can play, and sit quietly for those that are too hard. We are always looking for extra players particularly for bass clef instruments.

For more information about the music group speak to Terry Hobbs (01242 573375), Pauline White or Jacky Adams - .
